studio assistant for Daniel Chester French.
French was best known for his statue of
Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial. 
Evelyn was the only female assistant
he ever hired. She worked with him
 on many projects, including
the Lincoln Memorial.

Astronomer Dorrit Hoffleit joined the
American Association of Variable Star 
Observers (AAVSO) when she was 23 years old.
She remained a member for 77 years.

Madeleine L'engle wrote her first
story at five years old. She began
